Biometric Data Policy
To make your on-camera presenter and your voice, Brooks uses photos of your face and recordings of your voice. Some laws treat this as biometric data, including the Illinois Biometric Information Privacy Act (BIPA) and the Texas law on biometric identifiers (CUBI). This policy explains how we handle it.
What we collect
- Your face: the photos you give us, and the presenter videos made from them. We don’t build a separate model of your face: the presenter is made from your photo each time a video is made.
- Your voice: the recordings you give us, and the voice model (voice clone) made from them.
- Your consent: the record of when you agreed in Brooks, and the text you agreed to.
We only collect them from you, and only after you consent on Brooks’ consent screen (see Consent and Likeness).
Why we collect it
Only to make your presenter and your voice, and to use them in videos for your own business, which you approve before they’re posted. We don’t use them to identify you, and we don’t use them for any other purpose.

We share your face and voice data with no one else, unless you ask us to or the law requires it.
We never sell, rent, trade or otherwise profit from your biometric data.
How long we keep it
We keep your face and voice data only while you use them in Brooks. We permanently destroy them, in Brooks and at our providers:
- within 30 days of you closing your account or withdrawing your consent, and
- in any case, no later than three years after your last interaction with Brooks.
If you ask us to delete your data, we delete your face and voice data with everything else, in Brooks and at HeyGen and Cartesia, within 30 days.
How we protect it
We protect your face and voice data at least as carefully as our other confidential data: it’s encrypted in transit and at rest, and only the people and systems that make your videos can access it. More on our security page.
Your rights
You can ask us what face and voice data we hold, withdraw your consent, or ask us to delete it, at privacy@usebrooks.com. Our Privacy Policy covers everything else we collect.
